Indoor pool or outdoor summer swimming?

Jonathan Creek Inn and Comfort Inn both offer an indoor pool. Comfort Inn also lists a shared hot tub and breakfast. Best Western Mountainbrook Inn and Route 19 Inn have seasonal outdoor pools, which makes them different choices for a winter visit.

The best fit depends on how you spend the afternoon back at the hotel. An indoor pool keeps a family afternoon available in cool weather; a creek-facing room is about the setting. A private jetted tub belongs to a specific room category, not automatically to every booking at a hotel.

Stay on the creek or close to the museum?

Start with Jonathan Creek Inn for a stay built around the water. Smoky Falls Lodge adds food and drink on site, plus covered motorcycle parking. Meadowlark is useful for Wheels Through Time, with a restaurant and cabin categories adding reasons to spend the evening at the property.

Soco Road stretches along the valley. You will want a car for most mountain sightseeing, even when the property listing says attractions are nearby. Pick the right hotel experience first, then use one base for the whole weekend.

Choosing for a winter or motorcycle trip

For Cataloochee skiing, a warm valley-floor base and indoor swimming can be more useful than a remote view. Tube World is a separate Soco Road attraction; it is not at the ski lodge. For riders, Smoky Falls Lodge gives a concrete parking advantage, while Meadowlark suits a museum-centered visit.
